I trained with a Birmingham based firm of Chartered Accountants and qualified in 1978 as a Chartered Certified Accountant. During the 1980’s I helped to develop the practice and worked with many local owner managed businesses covering a wide range of different industries.
In 1992 I established Holder Blackthorn to specialize in looking after companies both UK and overseas owned. I worked very closely with these clients over the years and helped them in many different aspects of their business, achieving growth and success.
As a result of my work with overseas companies, particularly in Germany, I also sat on the Board of the Midlands Branch of the German Chamber of Commerce.
During my working life as an accountant, I have often been referred to as a financial doctor and this is the type of work that I enjoy most.
Following my retirement from managing the practice in 2017, I was keen to maintain my contact with clients and support the partners of the practice and now do so as a consultant.
Outside of the office my interests are sports, travel and socializing.
